The Late Brake

Supplying enthusiasts with the latest in car culture and motorsports

About The Late Brake

Our mission is simple: celebrate the joy of driving and the communities built around it. We cover everything from grassroots motorsports and track day experiences to project car builds, automotive culture deep-dives, and the events that bring enthusiasts together. Whether it’s a multi-part series following a decades-old BMW restoration, coverage of spec racing championships, or reflections on what makes Cars & Coffee special, our content focuses on the human stories behind the machines. We believe the best automotive journalism happens when you’re actually out there—turning wrenches in the garage, walking paddocks at dawn, or pointing your car down an unfamiliar backroad just to see where it goes. The Late Brake exists to document those moments and share them with a community that understands why they matter.

Meet the Team

Anthony PittFounder and Editor-in-Chief

When he’s not behind the keyboard, you’ll find Anthony at Cars & Coffee with a camera and questionable amounts of caffeine, or in the garage battling his perpetually-unfinished project cars—currently an E21 BMW and a Peugeot 106 Rallye. His automotive résumé includes serving as BMWCCA Communications Director for four years, multiple track days, and countless autocross events that have taught him both humility and car control in equal measure. But his biggest automotive vice is Formula 1. Ever since watching Rush, he’s been setting 5 am alarms for race starts and has made pilgrimages to four Grand Prix so far, including the 2022 Dutch GP at Zandvoort, with Monaco and Spa firmly in his sights. Between wrenching, writing, and chasing racing across the western United States, Anthony approaches automotive journalism with one philosophy: the best stories happen when you actually get out there and experience them firsthand.
